Purchase Relay For Life Luminarias at IVGID Venues

Incline Village, NV- Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society’s signature activity and it offers everyone in our community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people are invited to camp out at Preston Field on July 24-25th and take turns walking or running around the track. The Incline Village Relay For Life is an overnight event that brings people together to: celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost to the disease, and fight back against the disease.

One of the most moving parts of the event is the Luminaria Ceremony of Hope. As the sun sets over campsites and darkness falls, the night is brightened by the glow of illuminated bags called luminaria, each of which has a special meaning. Some celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer and have lived to tell their stories. Many remember the lives of those who have been lost to this disease. All represent someone special who has been profoundly affected by cancer and the family and friends who continue to fight back in their honor.

If you would like to honor someone with a luminaria during the Relay For Life then you may make a donation at the following IVGID venues: IVGID Administration, The Incline Recreation Center, Diamond Peak Ski Resort, or The Chateau at Incline Village. Please drop off your luminaria by July 23rd at the IVGID Administration building by July 23rd.

Please feel free to contact IVGID Marketing Coordinator Kayla Anderson at (775) 832-1120 regarding Team IVGID’s participation in this year’s Relay For Life.
